Connor McIndoe
Connor has worked at length in the Māori economy and has developed experience in understanding and exploring barriers within aspects of the financial sector.
Connor joined BERL in early 2021 after graduating from Victoria University of Wellington. During his time, he has been extensively involved in regional economic development, and the Māori economy, developing an expertise in the national, and regional, Māori economies, as well as Māori businesses.
He has also gained strong experience in understanding and exploring barriers within the financial sector, applying macroeconomic analysis with stakeholder engagement to realise outcomes.
Connor's skills:
- Thorough data analysis in StatsNZ’s IDI to develop detailed pictures and insights into aspects of the economy.
- Ability to interpret and translate a large variety of research and data into clearly presented pieces of technical writing.
- Understands the value in combining quantitative analysis and qualitative research to build deep and informed evidence bases.
- Actively communicates and engages with stakeholders in order to effectively achieve engagement purposes.
Joining BERL in March 2021, Connor has developed strong experience and expertise in regional economic development, the Māori economy, and the financial sector.

In his spare time, Connor plays first team football for the Upper Hutt City Football Club, and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
