BERL has just completed a report showing that migrants to New Zealand contributed a net $3.3 billion to the Government's fiscal accounts.  Fiscal Impacts of Migration 2005/06 determined that migrants contributed $8.1 billion in income tax, GST and excise duties whereas they consumed $4.8 billion of education, health and welfare.
