BERL Forecasts DataThe BERL datasets contain a wealth of time series indicators that we use to inform our Forecasts as well as our general work. These are updated in line with the BERL Forecasts. As the Forecasts are subscription based, the freely available datasets below are one quarter behind the latest available data. Data are in excel workbooks.Time series data for the retail, housing and tourism sectors in New Zealand broken down at a regional level. Time series data of the New Zealand labour market. Variable include employment, unemployment, labour force, not in the labour force, working age population and participation rate. Data is also broken down by gender, age, industry, region, full-time and part-time status. Exchange and interest rates, Dec 07 (.xls) Time series data of the exchange and interest rates (Dec 1985 - Mar 2007). Forecasts include the rates from June 2007 to June 2010. Quarterly, monthly, intermonthly, and daily datasets are also available in the workbook. Quarterly and monthly data of imports (Jan 1988 - Mar 2007) by category. It also includes information on capital imports, consumer imports, and motor vehicle imports. Time series data of GDP and GDP growth, real and nominal values (1996 - 2010). Detailed information are available by industry/sector. Quarterly data of exports (Sept 1991 - March 2007) by sector. Monthly data for apples, kiwi fruits, logs, timber, and pulp exports (volume). Quarterly summary sheet of current account balance (Sept 1991 - Dec 2006). A worksheet with monthly nercgabduse trade figures (Jan 1980 - Apr 2007). Summary Statistics, Dec 07 (.xls) The Summary Statistics workbook contains the range of BERL medium term (3-year) forecasts for various indicators. These are GDP expenditure; government revenue and expenditure; merchandise export receipts and import payments; balance of payments on current account; labour market indicators; permanent and long term migrations; labour costs and wage earnings. The workbook also compares the BERL, Treasury and Reserve Bank forecasts for: real GDP; unemployment rate; current account balance; inflation (CPI); employment growth (FTEs); export volume growth; implied labour productivity growth; private non-housing investment growth; exchange rates; interest rate. The workbook also contains world scene consensus forecasts for GDP and inflation. Other Indicators, Dec 07 (.xls) This spreadsheet contains a range of quarterly and monthly series as well as some national and international statistics. A worksheet containing quarterly data for New Zealand retail sales, labour cost index, earnings per hour and earnings per week. Aussie GDP/CPI and US GDP. A worksheet with monthly time series data for New Zealand - motor vehicle registrations; tourism activity (temporary visitors); new dwelling permits, house sales - median price, number of sales and average days on the market; National Bank business confidence and business outlook; retail sales; permanent and long-term migration; non residential building consents by number and value.
