 Economics and NZ Economy Websites

New Zealand Association of Economists - The website of the New Zealand Association of Economists (NZAE). This website contains contact and membership information, council members, membership profiles and details of NZAE conference proceedings.

Business New Zealand - The website of Business NZ, which is New Zealand's largest advocacy group for enterprise.  The organisation champions policies leading to: international competitiveness; balanced employment, economic and environmental legislation; compliance and tax levels that foster growth and investment; innovation and skill development; an environment fostering the production of high value goods and services.

New Zealand Government Departments

New Zealand Treasury - Treasury is the New Zealand Government’s lead advisor on economic and financial issues. They manage the financial affairs of the Crown.

Reserve Bank of New Zealand - New Zealand's Central Bank.  The Reserve Bank of New Zealand's three main functions are: operating monetary policy to maintain price stability; promoting the maintenance of a sound and efficient financial system; and meeting the currency needs of the public.

Statistics New Zealand - Statistics New Zealand (Tatauranga Aotearoa is its Maori name) is New Zealand's national statistical office. It administers the Statistics Act 1975, and is the country's major source of official statistics.

Ministry of Economic Development - The role of the Ministry of Economic Development is to ensure New Zealand is one of the best places in the world to do business, and to make a real difference to the country’s economic performance. The Ministry works across nine portfolio areas and takes an integrated approach across a wide range of agencies.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) is the Government’s principal adviser and negotiator on foreign and trade policy issues.

Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry - The mission of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is to enhance New Zealand's natural advantage through leading the protection and sustainable development of biological resources.
