A profile on Upper Hutt City for 2007, the report considered a range of short and long-term indicators of the City’s economic health. It looked in-depth at employment, GDP, labour productivity, business units, and business size growth in the City over a 10-year period. It also considered the importance of employment in various industries in the City relative to the national situation. The report also took into account the effect of the closure of a single large employer in the City on employment, GDP and labour productivity.
