This report updated and expanded on the report done the year before for the predecessor of Grow Wellington, Positively Wellington Business. It looked at the contribution of the region’s industries to local employment, GDP and business units in 2007, and their growth over the last 10 years.

The report also looked at which industries, at a more detailed level, grew fastest in 2007 and over the last 10 years, in terms of employment, GDP and business numbers. The report also examined several sectors of interest, including the agriculture and forestry, communications and media, and creative sectors.
