This project involved three studies.

One study was an assessment of the economic impact of efficiency improvements in Building and Construction. This assessment was undertaken using the BERL CGE model to simulate the economy-wide GDP impacts of efficiency gains across NZ industry. The results were compared with earlier assessments undertaken using 1986/87 and 1995/96 data.

Another study focussed on impacts arising from improved energy efficiency in buildings, with a third study looking at the impact of improved home insulation. Again, both studies were undertaken via simulations using the BERL CGE model.
