This report provided a broad measure of the economic contribution of the biotechnology industry in the Otago region.  Employment and production measures were obtained from firms and organisations in the industry. Value added and multiplier effects were then calculated by BERL.  The total contribution of the sector was estimated at 1,350 to 1,440 full-time equivalent jobs and about $70m to $75m of value added.
