Independent Review and Forecast of the Number of Notifications
Client: Department of Child, Youth and Family Date: November 2004 Author(s): Ganesh Nana
This paper reports on an analysis of the number of notifications to CYFS and a forecast of notifications for the years to June 2005 and June 2006. In the absence of a comprehensive search for independent drivers underlying the various categories, the forecast for the number of notifications hinge on assumptions or scenarios concerning behavioural and/or administrative changes. The analysis investigated the number of notifications by region, notifier type, ethnicity and age. Forecasts disaggregated across a variety of categories were generated. Separate forecasts at the aggregated level were also generated as a cross-check on the robustness of the projections. BERL#4348
