Client: Tourism Industry Association New Zealand; Aviation, Tourism and Travel Training Organisation; Ministry of Tourism; Hospitality Standards Institute; Hospitality Association of New Zealand Date: September 2004 Author(s): Mark Goodchild, Ganesh Nana and Stephen Hamilton (Horwath Asia Pacific Limited)
This report provides projections on the tourism industry's workforce requirements given expected visitor growth to 2010. These projections can then be used to inform the industry of recruitment and training requirements over the period. The projection shows that tourism will require another 120,730 people to both maintain and grow the industry over the seven years to March 2010. The projections were undertaken using a combination of desk-based modelling, industry surveys and consultations, as well as workshop sessions with key stakeholders. BERL#4298
