These two reports describe the performance of the Wairarapa economy over the past 9 years and provide a forecast of prospects over the coming eight years.  The forecasts were constructed using a combination of desk-based modelling and consultation with key players in Wairarapa business and industry.  The core scenario presented is a benchmark or status quo projection for the Wairarapa.  The continued development and implementation of a pro-active development strategy - where successful in further harnessing the region's economic resources and potential initiatives such as MRIs - could well result in a more positive outlook.
