Pacific Wave Conference Delegate Document
David Norman
Client: Pacific Cooperation FoundationAuthors: David Norman, Michael Webster and Dr Ganesh NanaDate: June 2009This project was completed for the Pacific Cooperation Foundation. Its purpose was to provide economic support and analysis to the Pacific Wave Conference being held in Auckland from 3 to 4 June 2009. The project had two components. First, we produced a Key Points for Keynote Speakers document. The Key Points document provided background on the current economic climate globally as well as a particular focus on New Zealand and Australia. The document further highlighted challenges and opportunities facing Pacific nations. Second, we produced a Conference Delegate document. The Conference Delegate document provided similar information, but also included country profiles for five Pacific nations – Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Cook Islands and Papua New Guinea. Creating a picture of the economic and social environment in each of these nations required extensive research and examination of a variety of sources of quantitative and qualitative information.
